Privacy Policy
How we handle information collected through rapic.io. If you want your data removed or have a question about anything below, email us and a founder will answer.
Who this covers
This policy applies to rapic.io and is issued by Rapic, Inc, a Delaware corporation based in Washington State ("Rapic", "we", "us"). It covers this website only. Our brands run their own products and publish their own privacy policies, so if you are a customer of one of them, that product's policy governs your account data, not this page.
What we collect
This is a static marketing site. There are no accounts, no forms, and no logins on rapic.io. We collect three things:
- Technical request data. Our host records standard server information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you request. This is ordinary web infrastructure logging and is used to serve and secure the site.
- Visitor identification data. We use a third party service to identify some visitors to this site. This is described in full in the next section.
- Anything you email us. Every contact route on this site is a plain mailto link. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your message, and whatever else you choose to include.
Website visitor identification
We use RB2B, a visitor identification service, on this site. It attempts to match visits to this website with information its data partners already hold, which can include a professional identity or email address. We use this to understand who is interested in Rapic and to follow up with relevant parties. In the wording our provider asks us to publish:
When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout.
You also have the option to opt out of the collection of your personal data in compliance with GDPR by visiting https://www.rb2b.com/rb2b-gdpr-opt-out. Both opt outs take effect regardless of whether you contact us, and using them does not affect anything else on this site.
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not set advertising cookies of our own. We use Overcentric, a website analytics service, to count page views and understand how visitors move through this site. It and the visitor identification service described above use cookies and similar technologies to do their work. Blocking cookies in your browser or using a tracker blocker will stop both; either opt out link above stops visitor identification. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.
How we use information
To operate and secure the site, to understand which organizations are interested in what we are building, to respond to investor, partner, and candidate inquiries, and to follow up on those conversations. We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing data with our identification provider may be treated as "sharing" or a "sale" under some United States state privacy laws, which is why the opt out links above are provided.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the vendors that make this site and our correspondence work. Today that is our website host and network provider, our visitor identification provider, and our email provider. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights. We do not sell or rent contact data to anyone.
Your choices and rights
Anyone, anywhere, can use the two opt out links in the visitor identification section above. Beyond that:
- California residents may request access to, deletion of, or information about the personal information we hold, and may opt out of sharing for cross context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for asking.
- Visitors in the EEA and UK may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, and may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Everyone else. We will honor the same requests regardless of where you live. You do not need to cite a statute.
To make any request, email us at the address below. We will verify the request and respond within the period required by applicable law.
Retention and security
We keep inquiry correspondence and identified visitor records only as long as they are useful for the conversation they belong to, and we delete on request. Access is limited to the two cofounders and the small number of systems named above. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and investors. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we identify visitors will be reflected here before they take effect.
